Outer diameter
Measure the roll at its widest point. The usable internal space of the dispenser matters more than the cabinet’s outside dimensions.

Roll width / height
Measure the paper width along the axle. A roll can have the right diameter and still be too wide.
Core construction
Record fixed cardboard core, removable pull-core or true coreless construction. This determines how the roll is supported and dispensed.
Ply count and fibre
1-ply, 2-ply or 3-ply describes layers; cellulose, recycled and E-Tissue describe fibre or production concepts. They are different properties.
Real consumption
The longest roll is not automatically the cheapest in use. Compare metres, absorption, wet strength and how much paper one task actually needs.
Certification
EU Ecolabel, FSC/PEFC and recycled content are distinct claims. Read the exact product specification rather than using colour as a shortcut.
